In the last few years, research in the field of neonatology has produced new valid therapeutic means, which helped us save many more lives today, although this is of little comfort to those parents who mourn the loss of their child. It is nevertheless up to us to use these negative experiences for the good of others by a rigorous re-examination of our doings.
